About

‘Metacommunities of Code’ is an academic research blog looking at ways of analysing the development of FLOSS through analysis of code commons. We are interested in particular in GitHub, SourceForge and related sites.

Metacommunities of Code is run by Adrian Mackenzie, Stu Sharples and Richard Mills at Lancaster University; Matthew Fuller at Digital Culture Unit, Centre for Cultural Studies, Goldsmiths, University of London; Andrew Goffey, Scool of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies,University of Nottingham.

The project is funded through the Google Data Analytics Social Science Research call of the Economic and Social Research Council.
